Southwest Elementary SchoolAlbuquerque Public SchoolsThe work on this Albuquerque Public School facility began in 2008 and was completed in 2009. Queston was pleased to have been able to work as the roofing contractor on this project.
Queston installed a fully adhered 60 mil PVC on the more than 90,000 square feet of flat roof surface. The PVC was installed over 1/4 inch DensDeck, 2 layers of 3 inch Iso insulation and the associated crickets. The white PVC will remain cool during the summer months and reduce the cost of cooling this large school facility.
The peculiar pyramid shaped structures on the roof are referred to as light monitors. On two sides these structures have 22 gauge, kynar coated R-panel metal roofing installed by Queston. The third side is constructed of a glass window pane. There are a total of 13 light monitors on this building. These structures are installed to maximize natural lighting. Queston also installed all the metal finishes such as coping, soffit and scuppers. |
